The successful applicant will be a motivated self-starter, with either an ACCA or CIMA qualification and preferably 3-5 years post-qualification experience. They will have a high level of personal energy, be analytical and adaptable whilst being willing to challenge the status quo. An effective approach to problem solving is also essential.

Job Title: Management Accountant
Reporting to: Head of Finance
Location: Head Office, Berry Pomeroy, Totnes
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
Salary: £26K - £32k dependent on experience plus 10% annual bonus scheme and Private Healthcare

Purpose of role:
To deliver an effective and timely Finance service to the Newcross business in line with established Mission and Values which consistently strives to exceed management expectations, and work as part of the Finance Team to proactively contribute towards the overall success of the organisation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support the Head of Finance in all areas
Prepare and submit weekly reports to Senior Management
Prepare and submit client reports as and when required
Prepare management accounts and report pack for review by Head of Finance
Seek comments from management about potential improvements
Produce annual budget and reforecast and analysis
Check and review weekly payroll
Maintain factoring account records and submit reconciliations
Provide relevant financial information and support wherever required, whether on a regular or ad hoc basis so as to facilitate substantive strategic and commercial decision-making
Provide coaching and support to branch network and head office
Support accounts colleagues in their roles and provide cover in case of absence
Collect and analyse branch data
Produce weekly league tables on a Monday and weekly report on a Friday
Produce monthly accounts pack by 12th day of following month
Draft statutory accounts for audit together with file of supporting reconciliations by end of June each year.
High standard of general education
Competent user MS Office
High problem solving skills
